The Best Dressed Celebrities at the Golden Globes 2020
Award season is beginning and we cannot wait to see who wore what and their styling. The Golden Globes has recently come and gone and here are the Lisa Kay team’s top pick of the renowned event:
1.Dame Helen Mirren
Let us take a moment to admire the style icon, Dame Helen Mirren. As always, she looks ever so elegant in a gorgeous dress from Dior Haute Couture. Dame Helen, paired her scarlet red gown with eye-catching Harry Winston diamonds – a true treasure! Helen Mirren was nominated for ‘Best Performance by Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television’ from her role as Catherine in ‘Catherine the Great’.
TV host Jeannie Mai was one of few to opt for separates for the event, sporting embellished top and wide-leg trousers from Elisabetta Franchi. She paired her look with a crystal encrusted clutch bag and matched her red court heels to a gorgeous red lip – very chic!
Phoebe Waller-Bridge stunned in a gorgeous power suit from Ralph & Russo Couture. Accessories were minimal, however, the suit was centre stage. Phoebe came away with 2 Golden Globes for ‘Best Actress - Television Series Musical or Comedy’ and ‘Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy’ for her starring role and brilliant writing in ‘Fleabag’. She also was nominated for ‘Best Television Series – Drama’ for her role in the production of ‘Killing Eve’.
There is only so many ways you can wear a tuxedo and at the end of the day, a tux is a tux! However, actor Ansel Elgort surprised us with his tux style. He wore a midnight-blue velvet Tom Ford dinner suit with a navy-blue bowtie. Ansel was seen sporting subtle glittery eyeshadow and some ice-blue nail varnish: an excellently eccentric flourish.
Gwyneth Paltrow wore an exquisite floor-length sheer Fendi gown in a tan shade and added further glamour with diamond earrings and a beautiful sparkling necklace, which was layered underneath the sheer dress. Paltrow’s dress was the statement of the evening so kept styling simple with her hair being in a centre-parting and left loose.
The lady in red, Scarlett Johansson was up for “The Best Actress in a Motion Picture” and although she didn’t win, she was certainly amongst best dressed in our eyes. She wore a beautiful bright red Vera Wang deep v-neckline gown and matched the dress with eye-catching Bulgari diamonds – we think she looked simply stunning.
