The Biggest Moments of Celebrity Fashion in 2019

As the end of 2019 is fast approaching, Lisa Kay London has collected the greatest fashion moments of celebrity fashion this year. Let’s reflect on 2019’s best dressed celebs together…

1. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga has grown in every way possible this year, from her career to stepping up her fashion game. She attended the 91 st Annual Academy Award Show as a nominee for the category of Best Original Song with her single ‘Shallow’. The Star Was Born actress/singer made history that night by becoming the first ever artist to have won an Oscar, Grammy, BAFTA and Golden Globe within a single year. Dressed to the occasion, she looked magnificent in her black silk Louis Vuitton gown that she adorned with a 128.5 carat Tiffany Diamond necklace - casually making history in style .

2. Billy Porter

Billy Porter wore a black velvet gown for the Academy Award Show, designed by none other than Christian Siriano, which incorporated a sharp tailored tuxedo jacket. The gown represented a clever play on masculinity and femininity, pushing the boundary of ‘Hollywood’ dress code for this special occasion. The singer/actor always had a deep interest for fashion and uses fashion to identify and express himself when the occasion arises. It left us in awe after this gorgeous dress choice.

3. Zendaya

Zendaya and her stylist, Law Roach reinvented the definition of 2019’s MET Gala as she arrived dressed as Cinderella and her stylist as the fairy godmother. Seconds after they hit the red carpet, something magical happened to the Tommy Hilfiger gown-literally! The fairy tale came alive as her stylist waved a magic wand, and in the middle of fog cloud her dress lifted and illuminated from the bottom up. She stole the show for the night!

4. The Kardashian-Jenner Sisters

The Kardashian-Jenner sisters walked the MET Gala in classic elegance as always. Kim Kardashian wore a Thierry Mugler mini dress covered in crystals resembling water drops. The look had a sentimental touch as it was inspired by her beloved daughter North; who calls her mermaid. The Jenner sisters, however, were in the middle of the attention as they walked the red carpet in their coordinated Versace gowns decorated with dramatic feather detailing.

5. Cardi B

Women making history in style was a theme for 2019. Cardi B attended this year’s Grammy Awards Show wearing a special vintage Mugler gown- specifically lent to nobody but her . Looking truly exclusive and stylish, she walked away with The Best Rap Album Award making history by being the first-ever female nominee to win the award.

6. Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez had her biggest moment at the 2000s Grammy Award Show as she attended the ceremony wearing her ever-famous green tropical Versace gown. Everyone spoke about her and the dress - it was at the centre of every conversation! Millions of people were searching for images of her the following day, which led to the invention of Google Image Search . The outfit has been featured in articles continuously over the past two decades. The 20 th anniversary of the gala came around and Versace dedicated a whole collection to celebrate that evening 20 years ago. Among the beautiful SS20 collection was a re-imagined version of ‘The Dress’. Donatella Versace wanted to do the dress justice and asked J-Lo herself to walk at the end of her Milan Fashion Show wearing the famous gown.

7. Celine Dion

Talking of fashion shows; Celine Dion was at the centre of attention of this year’s Paris Fashion Week. The 51-year-old legend stepped out to attend Alexandre Vauthier’s fashion show. Known for her timeless elegant taste, Celine did not disappoint this time either. She wore one of Vauthier’s satin mini dress designs featuring dramatic puff sleeves stealing the spotlight at the Vauthier show.

8. Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle had a lot of media attention around her pregnancy due to some revolutionary changes Prince Harry and Meghan introduced to the traditions of welcoming royal babies. However, we can’t let slip how she managed to look simply magnificent on every public engagement she attended while expecting baby Archie Harrison; especially on her Moroccan tour where she appeared in a spectacular long blue-print dress.

…And there you have it, the eight biggest fashion moments in 2019. We are all excited to see what our founder and designer, Lisa Kay has in store for 2020 - maybe the first big fashion moment of the year.
